Private North Carolina Collection Harper & Brothers published the Hillcrest edition of Mark Twain's works, one of a number of uniform editions, in three binding variants. This green morocco variant was the most expensive, and is now quite scarce.
Boards with edgewear, rubbed extremities, and light toning; spines with minimal browning, occasional chips, wear at ends (including a couple with a small loss), and separation from text block; occasional small areas of cracking at joints, and hinges rather tight and brittle with occasional cracking (sometimes severe) with all volumes still sturdy; light toning to interior with occasional edge tear, small edge or corner loss, and rare spot of grime with pages overall very clean; some leaves still partially unopened; a rare and good to very good set with less browning than typical.
