Late 18th-early 19th century, the first in watercolor on ivory, unsigned, the sitter attired in black coat and white cravat, presented in a copper pendant locket, retaining plated hair in the verso aperture. The interior cut paper contents with references to "Greenwich-Street", "Porter-House", and "[De]cember 1801". (3 1/4 x 2 1/8 in.)
the second manner of Walter Stephens Lethbridge (English, 1771-1831), depicting a portrait of a child and dog, watercolor and gouache on paper, bearing "W.S. Lethbridge" and dated "1795" to left side, presented in an oval giltwood frame under glass.
Also included with the lot is the pendant backing with hairwork of another presumed miniature, with printed details also referencing New York City's Colony Club: "Mrs. Warren Sanford Adam/Mrs. John Clinton Work / Miss Cecily Sheldon Work / At Home / on Friday, the second of December / from four until seven o'clock / in the ballroom of the Colony Club / Fifty-one East Sixty-second Street" (4 in.).
