Aldro Hibbard studied at the Massachusetts Normal Art School, the Massachusetts College of Art, and the Boston Museum School where he received the Paire Traveling Scholarship in 1913 to go abroad. In 1915, Hibbard taught painting at Boston University. He was a Founding Member and Director of the Rockport Art Association, and the Summer School of Drawing and Painting, which later became The Hibbard School of Painting. Hibbard was a talented baseball player who was invited to play professionally before choosing to leave his athletic career for painting.

He was a member of the Guild of Boston Artists, the National Academy of Design, the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, the New Haven Paint & Clay Club, the North Shore Art Association, the Salmagundi Club, the Gloucester Art Association, the Copley Society, the Audubon Artists, the Allied American Artists, the American Artists Professor’s League, the Academy of American Artists, and others.

Good estate condition.
