Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 18th or 19th century, a Chinese official figure with horsehair beard seated in formal attire on an elaborate throne with circular glass mirror behind his head, both the figure and the throne are carved wood that has been lacquered and highlighted with gilt.
DOA 25 1/4 x 15 1/2 x 9 1/4 in.
From the Estate of the late Margaret Fisher Terry, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Chapel Hill, North Carolina Overall good estate condition; some nicks and losses to edges; glass is cracked on medallion behind the figure's head; some separation to wood throne at edges; stress cracks to wood on sculpture and throne; some wear and loss to gilt mainly to lower part of throne and on figure; writing on throne in black reads "#36."
