Late 19th century, standing atop a reticulated coin motif square base, the plump foo lions have short tails and wide open mouths with tongue sticking out, the bronze body is cast with small dots covered in red enamel, white and black painted eyes give the lions a playful dog like appearance.
Each 7 3/4 x 7 x 4 in.
From the Collection of Leroy Lewis and Frank Rubis, Kinston, North Carolina Good estate condition with some minor losses and wear; one lion with a eye enamels missing.
