Late 18th century, octagonal shaped, overall black lacquer surface hand painted in gold with landscapes, floral patterns, and key motif, box has metal handles to sides, at top a hinged cover opens to reveal divided sections for sewing accessories, a small draw on lower front opens with additional divided sections for sewing notions, raised on four gilt claw feet.
