Armen Tigran Gasparian was born in Abadan, Iran, and moved to Calcutta, India, where he spent his formative years in an English boarding school in Darjeeling, in the Himalayan Mountains near Tibet. Gasparian went on to attend Calcutta Art Institute, Swain School of Design in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and the University of Kansas. Gasparian resided in Laguna Beach, California after moving from Hollywood to teach landscape and figurative painting at the school now known as Laguna College of Art & Design. He was there for seven years and took students to study and paint in Europe, Mexico, and other locations. He resided and exhibited across the world, painting in England, France, Italy, and the United States.
