Shinzaburo Takeda is a Japanese Mexican painter and print maker and is considered one of Oaxaca's most important artists. Born in Seto, Japan in 1935, Takeda moved to Mexico after studying at the University of Fine Arts in Tokyo. In 1963, he came to Mexico and began studying mural painting and later lithography. He moved to Oaxaca in 1978 and became a professor of art at the University of Oaxaca.
