Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Tusk, North Carolina, circa 1915, carved and painted wood, published on page 35 of Shorebird Decoys of North Carolina by Kroghie Andresen and Philip Harvey.

Length 14.5 in.

From the Personal Collection of Mr. Kroghie Andresen, Charlotte, North Carolina

Former collection of Doily Fulcher. He discovered this rig of shorebird decoys in 1967 at the home of Roland Davis. Kroghie Andresen acquired this decoy from Doily Fulcher in September of 1991.
Exhibited at the North Carolina Museum of History in 2008.

Pigott was one of the most significant decoy makers from Carteret County. His flattie curlews may have the best lines of any predominantly flat sided decoys from North Carolina. The profound form, coupled with Robert Pigott's skill in carving insertable heads, really make them stand out.

Photography stand does not convey.

Original paint, minor wood loss at bill.
