This magnificent curlew decoy was crafted from black gum root. It is the only known curlew to come from the Calvin Gaskill stand. Henry Harris owned and used a stand of shorebird decoys. He lived on Stacy Loop Road and was an avid hunter. He passed his decoy stand to Calvin Gaskill. There were roughly twenty shorebird decoys. Some attribute this decoy as being made by Mitchell Fulcher.

Photography stand does not convey.

Original paint chipping to bare wood in places.
