19th century, both alkaline glazed stoneware, a double handled jug marked with a hand written "4" below the neck, with a warm olive cinder glaze (17.5 in.); a marked "3" gallon with single handle (16.25 in.).
A small chunk of kiln debris adheres to the three gallon jug; the four gallon has a tight hairline that runs 2/3 of the height of the jug.
