Caswell County, North Carolina, circa 1840, two part form, mahogany, mahogany veneer, poplar and white pine secondary, flared cornice with ogee frieze, two hinged cabinet doors each with two window lights, egg and dart edge molding and gothic pointed arch at top, each door side edge with distinctive relief carved faintly raised stile and crown capital, louvered shelved interior, the base with hinged fold-out desk, green baize writing surface with inkwell above a single long drawer above two hinged lower paneled cabinet doors, shelved interior, lower case with paneled sides, scrolled front feet, straight rear feet.

Cornice with veneer chips and patch especially to the left side; later glass; later hinges; green baize with loss; veneer chips at base; cut/patch/repair at hinged lid; base with wear and scraping especially at feet; with three upper shelves.
