Serial number 180360 on bottom of receiver, 24 in. octagonal barrel marked MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO., NEW HAVEN. U.S.A. / 38 W.C.F. with single front sight and adjustable rear sight, walnut stock and forend with original crescent buttplate.

The Winchester Model 1892 rifle was designed by John Browning and introduced by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1892. It was developed as a lighter and more compact version of the Model 1886, aiming to cater to the needs of cowboys and frontier settlers. The rifle was notable for its strong action and versatility, accommodating various calibers, including .44-40 and .38-40.


Overall good to very good estate condition, barrel and receiver have surface scratches and finish wear, receiver has two long scratches on right side, stock has field marks from age and use, forend has .75 in. stable crack on left side.
