Gilt-paneled green morocco, gilt-lettered and decorated spine with raised bands, all edges gilt, with marbled endpapers and blue ribbon bookmark. Stamped "WHITE. RELIEUR. 24 PALL MALL. 1850." on free endpaper verso. 16mo; 374pp. Fore-edge painting of a landscape scene. (Boards with light scuffing and a mark to the front, corners, joints, and spine ends rubbed; hinge cracking; 19th-century ownership inscription on front free endpaper verso; pages lightly toned with occasional finger grime, and mild foxing concentrated at endpapers; without publisher's advertisements at the beginning; about very good.)

Gilt-decorated red morocco with raised bands on the spine, all edges gilt. 12mo; [2], viii, [1]-504pp. with index. With portrait frontispiece with facsimile signature, and (24) illustrations. A note on the first free endpaper verso states that the fore-edge painting depicts "Lydicks Mill & House on Bronx River. Now the site of the Bronx Zoo New York." (Corners and joints rubbed, mild discoloration to boards, and spine lightly rubbed and creased; interior with toning, occasional foxing and offsetting, and endpapers with edge chips and 19th- and 20th-century ownership inscriptions; hinge cracking; engraving no. 19 with vertical fold and associated tears; about very good.)
