The Winchester Model 1873 rifle was introduced in 1873 and became one of the most iconic firearms of the American West. Designed by Benjamin Tyler Henry and later improved by John Browning, it was known for its reliability and versatility, chambering popular cartridges like .44-40 and .38-40. Nicknamed "The Gun That Won the West," it gained fame among cowboys, lawmen, and outlaws alike.

Overall fair estate condition, barrel and receiver have moderate surface scratches, finish wear and oxidation, barrel markings and upper tang model information is worn, rear sight is not original, stock has two 1.25 in. stable cracks on left side and another .5 in. stable crack on right, forend has 1.75 in. stable crack with missing wood on left side, 1.75 in. stable crack on bottom, buttstock has small amount of movement.
