Likely 12th-13th century, sandstone, the head is carved with a serene face, downcast gaze and full lips, long earlobes, hair is styled with a tiered
ushnisha and rows of curls, presented on a wood stand.
HOA 20 in., Head only 14 in.

A similar sculpture resides at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, 50.46.222.
Overall very good condition; right ear with loss to lower lobe; left ear with some slight loss to upper ear; rubbing with slight loss to curls on head on upper left above forehead; some wear and scratches to wooden stand.
