Serial number 58201 on lower tang, 24 in. blued barrel marked NICKEL STEEL BARREL / ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER / .30 US MOD. 1903 with fixed front sight and adjustable rear sight, receiver marked MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS COMPANY / NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. with box magazine beneath frame, walnut stock and schnabel forend with original crescent buttplate, front sight, trigger and thumb lever have brass colored finishes.

The Model 1895, conceived by the exceptionally talented John M. Browning, was the first successful box-magazine lever-action rifle. It was designed to accommodate the new high-powered smokeless ammunition, making it suitable for hunting big game around the world.
Overall very good estate condition, barrel and receiver have surface scratches and finish wear, stock and forend have field marks from age and use, varnish has texture from what may laying on fabric for long period of time.
