Serial number 620474 on bottom of receiver, 24.25 in. octagonal barrel marked MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO., NEW HAVEN. U.S.A. / 32 W.C.F. with single front sight and adjustable rear sight, walnut straight stock and forend with original crescent buttplate.

It was developed as a lighter and more compact version of the Model 1886, aiming to cater to the needs of cowboys and frontier settlers. The rifle was notable for its strong action and versatility, accommodating various calibers, including .44-40 and .38-40.

Overall good to very good estate condition, barrel and receiver have surface scratches and finish wear, stock has field marks from age and use.
