Introduced in 1850, this .36-caliber, single-action, cap-and-ball revolver quickly gained popularity for its reliability, ease of handling, and relatively lightweight design. Although it was called the "Navy" model, it was widely used by both civilians and military forces, including the U.S. Army, during the period leading up to and through the American Civil War.

Overall good estate condition, working action, ferrous metals have oxidation, naval scene has moderate to high wear, brass has surface scratching and patina, grips have field marks from age and use, front trigger guard screw has been replaced.
