The first a crazy quilt, 1920s-1930s, comprising an assortment of fabrics hand-stitched together and embellished with decorative embroidered motifs including various animals, featuring a central rondel of black with a cluster of flowers appliqued and embroidered, also embroidered with "S 1926" and "F 1932" indicating the starting and completion years of the piece, the quilt backed with grey flannel (5 ft. 6 in. x 7 ft. 2 in.) (some staining and discoloration; loss to velvet pile of floral applique; several small holes);
the second a 20th century velveteen quilt, the top featuring patchwork squares of printed velveteen of subdued tones with large-scale paisley motifs, tied with hot pink yarn, the back a floral printed cotton (6 x 6 ft.) (wear and loss to edges; otherwise good estate condition.)
