Wilton was a market hunter until 1918 and then served as the caretaker of the Launch Landing Club. His skill as a boat builder is obvious in his decoys. He made stylish flat bottom decoys and left the bodies rough from the wood rasp. The Tice rig of decoys are considered some of his finest efforts. Decoys such as this example bearing the brand are extremely rare.
