Raphael Soyer was a Russian-born American painter, draughtsman, and printmaker. After moving with his family from Russia to the United States in 1912, he eventually studied at the National Academy of Design, Cooper Union, and the Art Students League of New York. He is known for his figurative Social Realist works that explore themes of human emotion.

Soyer's works are present in major museum collections such as the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, D.C.; the Whitney Museum of Art, New York; the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; and many others.

Good estate condition, not examined outside the frame.
