A Pair of Chinese Yokeback Side Chairs
Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Ming style, Qing dynasty (1644-1912), circa 1900 or earlier, appear to be huanghuali, with serpentine rectangular splat flanked by curved rounded stiles above a rectangular seat inset with rattan on molded shaped legs joined by box stretchers.

44 1/4 x 19 1/4 x 16 3/4 in.

Note the fine construction with tight through tenon joinery and curved shaped backs.

Overall good estate condition; refinished; woven seats with some rubbing; seats with some tight seam separations around the panel (but stable); both crest rails with repairs where the back splat joins the rail (one with fine repair, the other with later added block).
