"Jacobite" refers to sympathizers of King James II who was overthrown in 1688 due to his self empowerment as well as that of Catholicism. These subtle symbols allowed one to show their political alliance without being imprisoned or persecuted. Jacobite symbolisms includes the rose which is the main emblem of the Jacobites; two buds which represent James' sons; an open bud which represents Prince Charles Edward Stuart, otherwise known as Bonnie Prince Charlie.

Good condition.
