These subtle symbols allowed one to show their political alliance without being imprisoned or persecuted. Jacobite symbolisms includes the rose which is the main emblem of the Jacobites; two buds which represent James' sons; an open bud which represents Prince Charles Edward Stuart, otherwise known as Bonnie Prince Charlie.
