19th century, an impressive large silver-plate sculptural group featuring a graceful elephant wearing a lavish blanket and its head adorned with jewels, two figures ride atop the elephant, a mahout and a royal figure positioned above him seated in an ornate throne chair, the elephant stands atop a rectangular decorated platform surrounded by four attendants.
20 1/2 x 20 1/2 x 12 in.
Each figure is missing some ceremonial elements they would be yielding. Missing a large canopy, old solder repairs, some misshaping to base, some possible wear to plating.
