Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 19th or 20th century, made in the Ming style, wood with blue, red, and green pigments, the Buddha is carved seated in
dhyanasana dressed in long flowing robes loosely open at the bare chest, his hands are placed in his lap in
dhyanamudra, his full face features downcast eyes and framed by long earlobes and tightly coiled hair with a red flaming pearl above the forehead.
29 1/2 x 22 x 18 in.
Surface and pigment loss; some cracking and stress cracks to wood, one that separates body with old wood tie repair.
