Attributed Baltimore, Gerrard Hopkins shop, circa 1765, yellow pine seat frame, carved crest rail featuring scrolled ears, and stippled crest, pierced Gothic back splat, molded shoe, fluted stiles, shaped arms with carved scroll knuckle, shaped arm support with repeating rope motif from the knuckle, molded seat rail, flush skirt, distinctive relief carved drop shell at skirt, cabriole front legs with acanthus carved knee, ball and claw feet, down-swept rear legs.

39.75 x 29.75 x 24 in., seat height 17.5 in., seat rail 16.25 in.

Break/cut/patch/repair at top of crest; two small cut/patch/repair at the top of each stile at crest rail joint; center of splat left side with break and repair and wood chip; the molded shoe appears later which can communicate that the back-splat (while old) is later; later corner knee blocks, but the frame bracing is original in yellow pine; right ball and claw cut and likely rebuilt to the front half; front knee returns are old but appear later; seat frame is old.
