English or American, circa 1770, relief carved shaped crest rail, pierced sunburst cartouche, pierced and intwined back-splat, shaped arms with carved and scrolled knuckles, shaped arm supports, molded side seat rails, slip seat, shaped drop panels with spur, square molded straight leg with inside chamfer.

Retains a good dark mellow patina with well developed drop panels.

Break and repair at right ear to top of stile; back splat with two separation cracks; left arm support with tight shrinkage split; left side panel with break and loss at lower edge; left rear leg with chip and loss at tip; later seat frame.
