After graduating with a Bachelors degree from Kyoto Seiko University of Art in the Print Department, the artist then earned a graduate degree from the same institution. Ryo incorporates the special characteristics of drypoint which uses both weak and strong lines, and sometimes a blurring of lines. He creates small edition prints that express polarity using black and white in his work to reflect the movement of smoke, fire, oil in water, clouds and water. He is a rising star in the world of contemporary Japanese art.
