Circa 1854, wool on tan linen foundation, the upper registers with bands of alphabets and numbers divided by decorative stitching, signed "Margery Pettingill Prince Ed Co." and signed again on a lower register "Susan Margery Pettingill Aged 13 years" and dated "July 11 1854", the lower half with assorted detached floral motifs rendered in cross stitch, appears unfinished, with twining leaf border, in green frame.
