Kirksey's Crossroads, 1845-1849, light tan alkaline glazed stoneware, of an ovoid form tapering inward toward the base, wide lug handles placed high on the shoulder just below the neck, decorated with iron slip in the double swag and loop design, large loops forming a 'tassel' beneath each handle. Capacity and maker not marked.
13 1/2 x 10 in.
Private Collection Trapp appears likely to have been an owner/investor while Chandler was the principal turner.
Small loss of the slip decoration above one handle with glaze skips and a firing line at the same handle; separation lines on the attachment of the opposing handle; a through 7 in. hairline extends upwards from an underside hairline of 2 1/4 in.
