Circa 1870s, with retailer mark of "J R Painter / Musical Boxes / 1208 Chestnut Street / Phila" to lid interior, featuring a 14 in. cylinder with single comb playing eight musical airs, impressed "14325" twice to the brass hardware, set within a inlaid black lacquered rectangular case with ornate double handles, ormolu figural mounts, and hand-painted oval scenic panel to the lid, the front case having a 3-inch round enamel dial with Roman chapters, dual train movement with platform escapement, movement verso signed "G. BERGKAMMER FAB'NT A PARIS", striking on a bell and designed to activate the musical movement.

All comb teeth intact; music cylinder operating with clear sound at time of evaluation; lacking tune sheet; clock's right wind mechanism is tight, moving the minute hand a full rotation did active the hammer for the cylinder; scratches and some inlay losses to case; rubbing and spotting to the brass and ormolu; some shrinkage cracks to case lid.
