Mid-19th century, the first with mark of John F. Scott of Fredericksburg, VA, blade made in Germany, featuring an engraved eagle to the blade and black handle, within a fitted card case; the second razor also made in Germany, the case stamped with mark of John C. Willis & Son. of Fredericksburg, VA. featuring decorated gutta percha handle with mother of pearl ferrule.

The Estate of the late Dr. Larry Southworth, Fredericksburg, Virginia By the late 1840's John F. Scottwas in partnership with John H. Roberts and John H. Herdon owning one third interest in the Hope Foundry (later becoming the location Fredericksburg Police Department). In May 1851, Roberts sold his interest to the other two. In 1857, John bought out Herndon to become sole owner of Hope Foundry.
The foundry had made various types of equipment but when war broke out his sole purchaser soon became the Confederate army. In the foundry new war materials were made plus artillery pieces repaired.
Wear and tears to cases; some rust spotting to blades.
