Circa 1800, mahogany and rosewood veneers, pine secondary, two part form, light wood line inlays, the upper bookcase with an applied molded cornice above a vertically veneered frieze, two hinged cabinet doors, molded mullions, louvered shelved interior, the front edge reeded, the base of the bookcase with reeded plinth, the bureau with upper fall front pull-out butler's desk, three drawers with rosewood veneer, six valanced pigeonholes above three graduated long drawers with applied cock beading, French feet.

Note the drawer facings have a highly figured burl veneer.
The upper bookcase side moldings detached (but present); bureau rear back medial board detached (but present); later leather writing surface; pulls are old and in original holes (one facing detached, but present and one pull handle missing); right rear foot broken and reset.
