18th century, each chair with a barrel form molded back, each arm with relief carved reeding and rosette with bold C-scroll arm supports, back and seat with green leather and brass tack trim, square tapered front legs with carved paw feet, down-swept rear legs, underside of one seat rail stamped "G*IACOB".

35.75 x 22.75 x 17 in.

The chairs retain old, likely original, surface and ebonizing with tight joinery.

Georges was one of the most prominent Parisian cabinetmakers of his time, noted for furnishing Napoleon's residences.

Leather is old but likely later and in poor condition with tears; one rear foot with cut and tip at edge.
