Ernest Santasusagna studied at the Baixas Academy in Barcelona and the School of Arts and Crafts of La Lonja, where he would later become a professor. Afterword he taught at the Superior de Bellas Artes de San Jorge. He was a member of the Real Círculo Artístico, and exhibited at the Sala Parés, the Salones de Otoño, the Spring Exhibitions of Barcelona, and the National Exhibition of Madrid. In addition to his hometown, Santasusagna showed his work in Madrid, San Sebastian, and Bilbao, and participated in group exhibitions in Egypt, Brazil, Argentina and Italy, as well as in the Biennials of Venice, Berlin and Spanish Contemporary Art in Buenos Aires. He also worked as a poster designer for Metro Goldwin Mayer. His works can be found in several Spanish museums, as well as in many national and foreign collections.
