Light blue cloth-covered boards stamped in blue, illustrated endpapers, in illustrated unclipped ($2.00) dust jacket. 8vo; viii, [2], 78pp. With (8) full-page color illustrations by Wood including the frontispiece. Signed by the author on the half-title with Wood's humorous signature below: "(and me, too) Grant Wood" followed by a small "WOOD" with the O's as glasses.

Private Collection, Chapel Hill, North Carolina Spotting to boards concentrated at joints and along the edges, light toning to spine and along the top and bottom edges, a couple of areas of extremely light staining, and spine ends with minor rubbing; small edge stains on endpapers and the front paste-down with a small tear; gutter cracking at half-title and slight separation from text block at head; areas of paper wear to half-title, occasional browning and light cracking at gutters with a couple of small and inconspicuous areas of repair, and the seventh illustration with 1 1/8-in. tear; pages with light toning and occasional minor grime and creasing; an overall extremely clean interior with bright images; jacket with toning, light grime/marks, a few small stains including areas of damp staining concentrated at tail of spine, edge wear with occasional heavy chipping, and spine with creasing. Good to very good.
