Ann Mount is a realist painter whose work depicts the American South of her youth. Brought up in a time when studying art was uncommon for women, Mount began her career in painting as an adult.

Artist statement:
"I try, in my paintings, to say something significant about a simpler time gone by. I would hope that they offer more than a feeling of nostalgia...but reflect a strength and serenity."
