Luck Family (Seagrove, NC), Three Face Jugs

A "Crawdad Slip' jug, inscribed and dated 1995, and a gray glazed stoneware jug made by Sid Luck is inscribed "Luck Legacy Kiln Opening 8-21-99", the third jug, made by Jason Luck, a devil jug, is signed and dated 1999 (8 in.).

The "crawdad slip" glaze on the face jug was formulated by Sid. The "mud" for the slip was found in a nearby creek when Sid's young sons were catching crawdads.
