Sante Fe artist Jim Boyer originally went to New Mexico to work as a scientist at Los Alamos. He was inspired by the brilliant light and dramatic skies and turned to landscape painting. Boyer is primarily self-taught, working "en plein air," rendering landscapes in northern New Mexico, Puerto Penasco, Mexico, Venice, Italy, Guatemala, and Canyon de Chelly, Arizona.
