American School (Mid 19th Century), Two Portraits of Luther Halsey

The first, oil on paper board, unsinged, retaining antique label to verso reading "Oil Painting of / Grandfather Halsey / Age 75 Years" to the verso, framed below glass (Sheet 8 x 5 3/4 in.; Frame dimensions 11 x 9 in.); the second, a daguerreotype of the same sitter with slight hand-coloring to cheeks, presented in a daguerreotype case with label reading "Luther Halsey, S.D. / Growing old" (3 x 2 1/2 in.)

The first, some minor flaking to the edges of the sheet, light retouching visible under UV light inspection; losses to the frame.; The second, with separation to the case.
