French School (Mid 19th Century), Two Miniature Portraits of Gentlemen

Each a watercolor on ivory painting, the first, depicting a gentleman with rosy cheeks and a white cravat against a pink background, presented in a lacquer frame below glass, unsigned; the second, a portrait of an older gentleman with a black cravat against a neutral background, presented in a daguerreotype style case marked "Paris".

The larger frame dimensions 5 1/2 x 4 3/8 in.

Good estate condition, the cases with wear, flaking, and losses; the smaller portrait with some paint or residue to the lower edge.
