Paris, circa 1880, round alabaster dial with gilt numeral chapters signed "AUGTE LEMAIRE / PARIS / 121 rue Vieille du Temple", brass suspension spring movement with pendulum, with oval stamp of "Aguste Lemaire/ Paris", within an alabaster monument case featuring a silvered bronze tazza with Egyptian figural handles and lion mask mounts, includes pendulum.

Auguste Lemaire was founded in 1851, at 10 rue Saintonge in Paris, in the Marais district. The firm produced bronzes, clocks, cups, statuettes, andirons, candelabra, chandeliers, other decorative arts. He entered the Coucil of Manufacturers in 1855, and he was awarded a medal of second class the Universal Exhibition held in Paris in 1855. In 1862, Lemaire extended his business to 121 rue Vieille-du-Temple while keeping his workshop in rue Saintonge. The company was later taken over by E. Lhose.
Movement appears operational, moving the minute hand clockwise activates the bell chime; lacking winding key; rubbing to the dial and loss to VI numeral; the glass to reverse is cracked and clouded, minor chipping to the base and fill to reverse corner; minor rubbing and verdigris spotting to bronze.
