William Harrison Ainsworth; George Cruikshank, illus., et al. [THE WORKS OF WILLIAM HARRISON AINSWORTH]. London: George Routledge and Sons, n.d. [circa late 1800s]. 16 vols. (complete). Some volumes state "Author's Copyright Edition." Three quarter calf over tan cloth-covered boards, gilt-stamped spine with red and dark blue labels and raised bands, with marbled endpapers and top edge gilt; bound by Riviere & Sons (stamped), and additionally stamped "H. SOTHERAN & CO PICCADILLY. LONDON" in outer corner of the front endpaper verso. 8vo. All with frontispiece with tissue guard and illustrations by George Cruikshank and others. To include: Rookwood, Crichton, Jack Sheppard, The Tower of London, Guy Fawkes, Old St. Paul's, The Miser's Daughter, Auriol, The Lancashire Witches, Mervyn Clitheroe, Windsor Castle, The Flitch of Bacon, The Star Chamber, The Spendthrift, Ovingdean Grange, and Boscobel.

Boards with scuffing, rubbing to extremities, and occasional bumped corner; one with small mark on the spine; typical minor stains from binder's glue on endpapers; interior with occasional offsetting from images, minor toning, and light scattered foxing and spotting concentrated on endpapers and fore-edge; a very good set with some leaves partially unopened.
