Lot Details & Additional Photographs
First quarter of the 20th century, featuring an acanthus leaf pediment over three shelves over a conforming apron with egg and dart and scrolled acanthus motifs, with a brass plaque at the lower center reading "Benedict XV / Palm Sunday / 1921"

81 x 17 1/2 x 11 in.

Pope Benedict XV celebrated the Palm Sunday mass on June 29, 1921, at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, Italy. It is likely that this shelf hung in the Church interior, and was present for the papal blessing.

Not retaining a finial, minor abrasions, likely missing fitted glass.
