A Chinese Iron Sculpture of Guan Yu

Likely Ming dynasty (1368-1644), the cast iron figure of Guan Yu shows him in his characteristic armor, holding his long beard with one hand, and a spear in his other hand, he stands on a raised platform, scattered remnants of red pigments to the figure.

Rubbing and loss to majority of pigments; scattered corrosion with loss; hole formed by corrosion to lower back of robe.
