The necklace comprised of fluted articulated gold segments meeting at the front with naturalistic motifs and set with marquise cut rubies and single cut diamonds, joined at the center by a removable peacock design brooch, pavé set with full cut round and single cut diamonds and set with marquise cut rubies and single cut diamonds to the wing, completed with a single pin stem and with clasp to attach to the necklace, the necklace completed with an integrated clasp with safety, signed to wing, brooch stamped CFA 14K and numbered 14/250. Total weight of diamonds approximately 1.00 carat (H-I color, SI1-SI2 clarity). Total weight of rubies approximately .60 carat.

An artist of myriad creative pursuits, Erté, born Romain de Tirtoff in 1892, was a Russian born French artist, who began his career in 1915 creating cover illustrations for Harper's Bazaar magazine for 22 years. Blending curvilinear rhythms from Art Nouveau and the geometric motifs from Cubism and Constructivism, Erté's stylized illustrations, figures, and fashion designs were sought after by the chic and wealthy, and highly influential on the creation of the Art Deco art movement.
