Inspired by a scuba diving adventure in 1991, Dorothy began working with transparent glass and paired up with glass maestro Lino Tagliapietra as her gaffer. In 1997 she changed from blown glass vessels to two-dimensional glass art relating her pieces to more painterly objects building layer upon layer, as seen here in these pieces.
