Beth Nablo was born in Sao Paolo, Brazil, and grew up in Calvert, Texas. She studied art at Baylor College in Waco, Texas, and Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana.

An abstract expressionist, she maintained a studio in Buffalo, New York from the mid-1950s until 1968. In 1959, she was the first female painter to have a work purchased by the Albright-Knox Art Gallery for their permanent modern art collection. She moved to the Florida Keys in 1968 and continued painting and exhibiting her work throughout her lifetime.
