Tillet was born and raised in Kitty Hawk. As a young boy, he learned how to hunt, fish, and build boats. He first worked alongside local market hunters, including Bob Perry and Ivey Dowdy. This stylish willet is one of the better shorebird decoys carved by Tillet.
